Cast Netplay to TV: Chromecast Guide

Cast to Chromecast: setup steps, fixing a missing cast icon, and quality tips for smooth big-screen playback.

Phone casting a glowing beam to a neon screen with wireless waves

The app plays nicely with Chromecast: start the stream on your phone, throw it to the TV, and use the phone as the remote. Here is the setup that works with the Netplay APK.

What you need

A Chromecast or a TV with Chromecast built in, your phone, and both on the same Wi-Fi network. That is the entire requirements list.

Casting a stream

Start playing a title, tap the cast icon in the player, and pick your TV. The stream moves to the big screen while your phone becomes the remote: play, pause, seek and volume all work from the phone.

If the cast icon is missing

First, confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network; guest networks and VPNs break discovery. Second, restart the Chromecast. Third, reinstall the latest build so you are not fighting an old-version bug.

Quality tips for casting

Casting adds one more network hop, so a stream that plays fine on the phone can stutter on the TV. Keep the phone on the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi as the Chromecast, and drop to 720p if the TV stutters. Our buffering fixes apply to casting too.
